Kate is a two-time Kleban Prize Finalist, two-time Jonathan Larson Grant Finalist, and 2021 PMCA Emerging Playwright Competition Winner. She is currently commissioned by DreamWorks/Universal and MTI to write How to Train Your Dragon, Jr. Her shows have been developed with Prospect Theater Company, Apples and Oranges Arts, Manhattan School of Music, Athena Theatre Company, Monsterpiece Theater Collective, New York Theater Festival, The Dare Tactic, Open Jar, New York Theatre Barn, Steinhardt School of Music, Illinois Wesleyan, and Tisch. She has been an O’Neill NMTC Finalist, Syracuse University New Work New Voices Finalist, NAMT Semifinalist, and a Resident Playwright with Athena Theatre Company.

JOEY CONTRERAS
Music
Joey is a New York based, Mexican American musical theatre and pop songwriter. His various music releases have amassed over 10 million streams. He is a Fred Ebb Award finalist, Jonathan Larson Grant finalist, ASCAP Foundation/Max Dreyfus Scholarship recipient and an alum of the Johnny Mercer Project. His musical In Pieces was a NAMT finalist and is currently licensed worldwide with a commercial run in the works. His other musicals include Forget Me Not, Heartbreakers in Hell, Last Call for Monty and Liz (Storyboard Entertainment) and Robby Green is All Grown Up. Additionally, he has composed for Walt Disney Company, The 5th Avenue Theatre and various short films. He regularly guest teaches at universities and musical theatre training programs. He received his MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from Tisch School of the Arts.

CATIE DAVIS
Director
Catie is a NYC-based director who creates highly theatrical, deeply empathetic, and surprisingly human musical theater. Upcoming: Ghost of John McCain (Soho Playhouse, world premiere). Other recent credits include Forget Me Not (Riverside Theatre), Beetlejuice (Norwegian Cruise Lines), Indigo (Human Race Theatre Company, world premiere), and The Magnificent Seven (Flint Rep, world premiere). Associate directing includes the Broadway productions of Beetlejuice, Moulin Rouge, and Company, as well as Baby J (Netflix) and Ben Platt Live from Radio City Music Hall(Netflix). She has worked at The Public Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, and is frequently a guest director at NYU (her alma mater) and Manhattan School of Music. Catie is a 2018 MTC Directing Fellow, a Lincoln Center Directors Lab alum, and a proud member of SDC.

BRIAN RUSSELL CAREY
Music Director
Brian is a music director, actor, musician, and orchestrator originally from Utah. Broadway: Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. Music Director: In Pieces; Forget Me Not; Heartbreakers in Hell; Royal Caribbean International; Oregon Cabaret Theatre; MSM; NYU Tisch; NYU Steinhardt; Open Jar Institute. Additional acting credits: Off-Broadway: Red Roses, Green Gold; A Christmas Carol. Regional Theater: North Shore Music Theatre, Ivoryton Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Milwaukee Rep, Flat Rock Playhouse, The Lesher Center. In addition to playing 12 instruments and acting, he is a professional videographer and runs his production company, BRC Creative.
